I put off this post because I wanted to truly do it justice (and life since then has been a whirlwind) but I’m finally ready to share my thoughts about Katelyn James’ Workshop Experience!
(The following non-iphone (aka beautiful) photos are by Ashley + Tyler Herrinton, who are also fantastic videographers in Virginia!)
If you aren’t a photographer let me first invite you into this world so you understand… Katelyn is like a celebrity of the photography world, without acting anything like a diva! Her images are beautiful and fresh, but her brand is so much more than that… It’s about educating business owners so that they can have a better life and more efficient business, and it’s about impacting her making her clients feel loved and heard.
She speaks and teaches passionately, and uses her faith in God to make an impact on anyone and everyone.
I have stalked her for a while (thanks Kelly) and I have sent her stalker-level emails that would embarrass me if I posted them because I was like “Hey… so I love you. Workshop soon? Please take my money.”
As luck would have it, we were at home when I got the email about the new workshops… I was probably supposed to be grocery shopping that day, but I don’t know what I would’ve done if I was in Aldi shopping… Left the buggy, ran to the car to sign up? Stood on the bagging area to get better service? Who knows hahaha.
I found the very first one (because I’m not patient), made sure my schedule was clear, and grabbed a spot in record time!! Which is good because that one sold out quickly!
My friend and local photographer, Erin, got a spot for that one too and we began to plan our trip together and I began a celebration countdown.
The workshop took place in the Alsop’s new home which is amazing and I KNOW Joanna Gaines would approve. It was the absolute best investment I have ever made. Katelyn, Michael and their families are the sweetest, most down to earth people ever.
When I saw them both at Creative at Heart in August they were the nicest, all over again. You can tell they both really and truly care about people. They have made such a difference in my life and business in such a small time <3
I now have 3 more “Katelyn” items on my list:
1) A 1-on-1 coaching session
2) An anniversary session with Kyle and I… one day!
3) and WHATEVER her new course is haha!
Check out some behind the scenes from the workshop below…
Look at Katelyn and Michael’s beautiful daughter, Evy!! I can’t even begin to explain the life-changing education and kindness that Katelyn and her family provided me during this workshop. It was so wonderful. We were allowed to snoop ALL around her wonderful house and truly felt like we were at our best friends house <3 Emily (Katelyn’s sister) made our amazing food and also the cutest, smiliest baby <3 haha!
I love these photos so much <3
We were the first workshop in this beautiful home! You see more about their home here!
My sweet roomie and road trip partner!! We are both pregnant here haha!! <3
The most famous dog, Bokeh, and I <3
Abby + Chelsey are also some of the wonderful Hope Taylor Alumni girls that attended 😀
Bokeh wanting something super yummy that Emily made haha!
I took this photo mainly because I cannot believe I’m casually cuddled under blankets on this couch and in this house hahaha!
All our meals were sponsored by some fabulous businesses! During meals Katelyn would do a FB live and answer questions! It was so awesome!! I’m pretty sure her next workshop is coming up so turn on notifications so you can tune in!
I’m a stalker and took screenshots when I saw myself (or my car) on Katelyn’s instagram story, probably to show my grandkids or something hahaha!
Hope you enjoyed this crazy and all-over the place blog of one of my FAVORITE business purchases. I really still can’t put into words just HOW amazing it was!
Oh, and we also got to participate in an amazing styled shoot during this workshop so I will be sharing that soon in Part Two <3
