When Kyle and I had Tristan and got married, I honestly thought I was going to be like the girls on #teenmom. I mean like the good ones, that everybody actually likes, but yeah. As a teen mom myself I thought my life was headed that way haha
However, in reality my #goals are really more like being Ma from Little House- except I’m constantly in graphic tees and yoga pants and other clothes I don’t think would work in Walnut Grove. #thankyouverymuch And while I know now that I want a minimalist farm with cows and chickens one day, I’ll also need a lot of help making that become a reality too hahaha! 😂
It’s just funny how the stereotypes we think we will fit into can completely change if we let them. .
For us, we wanted more of the Lord, more family time, more time to homeschool, more opportunity to leave a 9-5, and more chances to both be heartfelt leaders for our kids and people who we just like us..
We wanted to color outside of the lines that the world tells us we should stay within. And sure, that means we do a lot of stuff “different” from others our age or those with kids our age— but it’s OKAY!! In fact, it has been incredible for the closeness of our family in this season to just let go of expectations and become who we were meant to be!!
So I just want to encourage you today… If there is something you feel called to do but are scared to take a risk on it because it makes you seem weird to everyone else… just STOP! Stop trying to talk yourself out of it and just do what God wants you to do and go where he wants you to go!! He’s got this and while you may not recognize yourself in a few years that can truly be the BEST, most freeing thing!! 💕
